海南中学简介

海南中学是一所办学历史悠久的全国名校。其前身是海南现代教育家钟衍林先生创建于1923年的私立琼海中学。新中国成立以后，学校由私立改为公办，1953年校名定为广东海南中学。1959年被确定为广东省首批重点中学之一。1988年海南建省后英语外教社，海南中学被确定为海南省重点中学。

海南中学现有初高中两个学部98个教学班，在校学生近五千人，在职教职工485人，其中有专任教师389人。迄今海南中学教师中有210多人次被评为和省级先进工作者。参加调教、说课和论文、课件评比的教师中，共有736人次获全国和省级一、二、三等奖，在省级以上报刊发表论文588篇。目前在职教师中，有2名国务院特贴专家、13名对海南省有突出贡献的优秀专家、15名特级教师、16名骨干教师、21名省级骨干教师，以及186名高级教师。各类专家、各级骨干教师、特级教师和高级教师的人数和比例都居全省各中学首位，精英翘楚，济济一堂。

HainanMiddleSchoolisanationwideeliteinstitutewithahistoryofaboutonehundredyears.ItspredecessorwastheprivateQionghaiMiddleSchoolfoundedbyHainanmoderneducatorZhongYanlinin1923.AfterthefoundingofthePeoplesRepublicofChina,theschoolwaschangedfromprivate-ownedtogovernment-administratedinstitute,andwasgiventhenameofHainanMiddleSchoolofGuangdongin1959.ItwasidentifiedasoneofthefirstbatchofkeysecondaryschoolsinGuangdongProvince.AftertheestablishmentofHainanProvincein1988,HainanMiddleSchoolwasaffirmedasakeysecondaryschoolintheprovince.

Thereare98classesintheschoolservingstudentsfromthe7thgraderightthroughtothe12thgrade,withover7000studentsand485in-servicefacultymembers,including389full-timeteachers.Uptonow,morethan210teachershavebeenawardedthetitleofNationalandprovincialadvancedstaff.Amongteacherswhohaveparticipatedinteachingcompetitions,teachingplanpresentationcompetitionsandevaluationofpapersandcourseware,thereare736personsgainingthenationalandprovincialprizes.588paperswerepublishedinnewspapersandmagazinesatorabovetheprovinciallevel.Atpresent,thereare2expertswithStateDepartmentspecialallowance,13expertswithremarkablecontributionsinHainan,15special-gradeteachers,16nationalleadingteachers,21provincialleadingteachersand186seniorteachers.Thenumberandproportionofitsleadingteachers,special-gradeteachersandseniorteachersalsodominatethewholeprovince.Itistrulyaschoolwithintellectuals,whichlaysasolidfoundationforittocultivateabunchoftalentsofdifferentprofessions.
